yo dawgs. i'm starting my life over. (and my blog over). i'm crossing over to the other side and you can still stalk me on the internet if you'd like by visiting: http://dyurchinkonis.wordpress.com/ or www.yurchinkonis.com
This past weekend Chad's sister got married. The wedding and reception were in Southern MD in the beautiful Solomon's Island area. Christen and Mike were nice enough to take time in their big day to let me snap a few photos here and there. I didn't bring my camera to the reception (I'm a firm believer in boogieing when the time is right) so don't have any photos from there but it was a blast. Oh, and I caught the bouquet and Chad caught the garter. hah.
The weather is taking a turn towards Fall and it makes it so perfect for riding right now. I caught up with Nic the other day and checked out the new farm she took her horses to which is absolutely gorgeous. Cue the cheesy lovey dovey horsey pics. You might remember Nicole from other photos- she traveled to Ireland with me twice and we also spent quite a while working on a horse farm together back in high school/early college. We slept in the attic of the woman who we worked for and she used to tell us it was haunted. Well, the whole farm for that matter.
In other news, I went through with opening up my own etsy shop. I probably should have waited until I had one or two of the other prints but I figured I'd throw these two out there for kicks anyway. You can check out my shop HERE. Just in good fun.
I have been in and out of state for most of August so haven't checked in for a while...
However, I did hang out with May and Louie today and made my very first piece of pottery!:
A little lopsided but I'm still pretty excited. Hopefully many more will follow in the near future.
In other news, I also recently ran a few test prints for a small print edition I hope to release some time in the next few weeks. Hopefully to be an ongoing series, all of the images are based around nonsensical mechanics and animals. Below are some quick shots I snapped of the prints this evening. Inkjet prints produced on 11"x17" Hahnemuhle William Turner. I'm still unsure about the number for each edition, but it'll most likely be something quite small between 10-20 prints of each image and relatively inexpensively priced and sold through an etsy account.
The originals are Bic ball point pen drawings on terrible paper. I'll have some better images when I release them.
shot a wedding yesterday. Only the second one I've ever done (the first I really had NO clue what I was doing) but it's something I've been considering doing a bit more of.
Consequently, no pen pals for yesterday and probably today while I catch up...
regain/regrowth is a messy bulletin board of my recent photography, thoughts, or other art. the majority of the images posted here stem from a trip abroad during the summer of 2008, mostly spent in Latvia. nothing is really edited, everything is really heartfelt.
